In Feb 2011, The Syndicate celebrated its 15th Anniversary as a guild. In June 2011, Blizzard released its Blizzard Insider newsletter (edition #38) where, among other things, it highlighted screenshots that it felt were worth pointing out. The Syndicate 15th Anniversary shot was chosen as the top shot to highlight due, in part, to a huge amount of player support. Comments both congratulating us on the achievement and commenting that the player community wanted more screenshots similar to those (and less showing random terrain and such) attracted a great deal of attention and focus to that achievement.

We feel the achievement is significant, beyond just ourselves, because there is only a 1 in 55,000,000 chance of achieving that longevity. That number was calculated based on the number of guilds that have risen and fallen since our founding (using data from friends at various development studios and extrapolating it over time) and how many have reached (or are close to) that level of longevity.
