Planetside 2 "The Game" Launches
(Nov 2012):
November 20th, 2012 SOE launched Planetside 2. And although no one ever reads the credits in games, The Syndicate is featured there. The PS2 wikia project was a great one to work on for several reasons. First, working on strategy content directly with a game developer was a far smoother and more successful process than working through Prima Games. There are two reasons for that. The first being that the developer asked for the guide so they have a vested interest in making it a success. When Prima does a guide, they pay the developer for the rights to create the guide and there is not the same vested interest. Second, when we work directly with a developer, there is no middleman so to speak. Questions get answered quickly and efficiently and the process flows much more smoothly.

Planetside 2 Wikia Launches
(Oct 2012):
In October, the official Planetside 2 Wikia launched. The wikia represents several really cool things. First, it is the first time Wikia partnered with a gaming company (SOE, in this case) to create an officially endorsed wiki. They have hosted wiki's for other major games (such as SWTOR) but they were not officially endorsed ones and they were not created in cooperation with the game developer. The Planetside 2 Wikia changed that. Second, the PS2 wikia was created by The Syndicate. Working with the SOE PS2 Dev Team, over the course of months, The Syndicate guide writing team collected data, created the layout, designed the graphics and wrote the strategy content for the wiki. The intent is for the wiki to be a living site where many players offer content updates and additions but first it has to be seeded with a rich amount of content and then, with the support of SOE, it can begin to take on a life of its own. Check out the wiki. It is definitely a very professional looking, very rich in content site that we are proud to be a part of.

Interview – Richard Garriott
(June 2012):
Richard Garriott (aka: Lord British) was interviewed about his development company Portalarium. He was asked about his title Ultimate Collector and about his spiritual successor to the Ultima series entitled Ultimate RPG. In that interview he talked about The Syndicate. An excerpt from the article is:
I’ve got a lot of people from the hardcore [Ultima]guild called The Syndicate. We’ve personally invited a bunch of players from The Syndicate and they were at least willing to give me a pass on, “He can’t be that idiotic to be going down this path”. The Syndicate really started as an Ultima Online guild and they were wanting to believe. What The Syndicate players have been doing, even if they were individually concerned or skeptical, once they came in and started playing Ultimate Collector, they went, “Aha! I get it.” I think we’re persuading one person at a time..

Meet the Guild That's Lasted Over 16 Years
(Feb 2012):
Massively ran an article about The Syndicate's 16th anniversary. An excerpt from the article is:
Guilds are a dime a dozen in MMOs today, be they small social guilds or hardcore groups that collect a few hundred players together. Most guildmates you play with will eventually leave the guild, making way for new members giving the game a try. But what if your guild could transcend the game it was formed in, creating a community that stayed together and moved from game to game? The Syndicate is one such guild, boasting a membership of 1,200 players and a 95% retention rate. The organisation celebrates its 16th anniversary this week, having been born as an online community before the release of Ultima Online.

UO's Oldest Guild Turns 16
(Feb 2012):
In early 2012 The Syndicate turned 16 years old and here is an article and some community replies about The Syndicate turning 16. An excerpt from the article is:
Throughout its 16 years, The Syndicate has set the mark for excellence in a number of ways. The foundation of the success of the guild was created through established a strict and well managed recruiting policy. In order to join The Syndicate one must be close friends with the guild; have a compatible personality and gaming play style; and be looking for long term membership that is based heavily around building personal relationships with other members of the guild. That focus has led to the creation of a 'drama free' environment with unparalleled retention which in turn has allowed for deep friendships to form.
