2020-2021

25 Year Guinness World Record    (October 2021):
The original records that The Syndicate held were all about "continuous" operation. An entity had to be able to objectively prove they were in existence for the entire time. They couldn't just claim it on their website. They couldn't have a break in service where they were not an active gaming community. They had to have 25+ years of continuous operation that was provable by objective, third party sources. Somewhere along the way that changed and the record dropped that wording. Regardless of that change, The Syndicate has maintained continual, uninterrupted operations, under the same leadership, with hundreds of members for 25 years. In 2021, the record was updated, using those objective, third party sources to demonstrate that and was re-awarded to The Syndicate.

The Syndicate D&D Campaign    (August 2021):
The Syndicate started as a community with a common interest in MMO gaming. We use gaming to build and grow friendships. As the MMO market stagnated between 2011ish and 2021, other sources of collaboration and common interest emerged. One that dozens of members enjoyed was Dungeons and Dragons. Syndicate membrs ChuWii and Monk banded together and created the structure to hold online D&D games that were completely integrated and that culminated in a season finale massive event at SyndCon. The general design was that there were many different D&D parties, each with a Dungeon Master, adventuring in the fictional world, all within the same overarching plot. Each group may have different week to week experiences but all of those adventures would end up meeting for the final act of the season. This article gives a recap for the first two seasons.

Pirates of the Burning Seas Guest Blog    (May 2020):
PoTBS continues as a very fun, pirate adventure game in 2020. Dragons was asked to do a guest blog for the developer newsletter. An excerpt is: It was August of 2008 in south Boston. A couple of hundred members of The Syndicate (www.LLTS.org) were gathered in a hotel for the 7th annual, five day, SyndCon gaming event. Game developers were invited to show off their content, obtain feedback and promote their games. A fledgling raffle, to raise money for charity, was starting up and a table was full of items for the raffle. That year there were two significant focuses of the SyndCon event. First, a highly sought after raffle prize... in the form of black T-Shirts with phrases such as "Getting Booty since 1720..." and "Support Piracy..." and second, the LAN gaming room that contained machines running Pirates of the Burning Sea.
